If you're on the hunt for a burger that delights the palate, look no further than Pumpers in San Antonio. Nestled at 1101 Broadway, this charming eatery is quickly carving a niche in the local burger scene. The reviews pour in with praise for the flavor-packed offerings, such as the signature Pumper burger, adored for its unique sauce and juicy beef. Customers rave about the crispy, golden fries often compared favorably to fast-food staples.
The atmosphere is noteworthy as well; the establishment plays an enjoyable mix of goth and new wave music, creating a vibe that enhances the dining experience. From the warm welcome by the staff to the creative cocktails available, every aspect shines. Notably, the fried onion rings have received a chef’s kiss from patrons, a testament to the attention to detail in their cooking.
Both locals and travelers agree: whether you’re grabbing a quick bite after a concert or looking for a fulfilling meal, Pumpers hits all the right notes. With plans to explore their hot dogs on future visits, it’s clear this little gem has more deliciousness to offer. Make your way to Pumpers and let them “love you to the max!”

First time here. It is a cute small establishment that plays amazing goth/new wave music. The employees are all nice and make sure their customers are enjoying themselves. The pumper: my husband said it was extremely delicious packed with tons of flavor. Charles JR: for me this cheeseburger was amazing. The meat is really tender and packs delicious flavors. The candied bacon cooked to perfection. The fried onion rings are crispy and a chef's kiss. Fries: my hubby liked them. They did have enough salt and are crispy. For me, they were okay. Overall the food is amazing and I suggest you give it a try if you're wondering you should. They do have a bar as well. I like that the soda are tall neck glass bottles. Definitely will try one of their hot dogs next time. Total: 48

Dare I say best burger in San Antonio! Pumpers did not disappoint. Service was excellent and truly was the best burger I’ve had in town. I got the pumper and it came with this special sauce that was outstanding. The vibe and atmosphere in there was really cool.

We tend to make a pit stop in San Antonio when traveling to and from the Hill Country and beyond...San Antonio already has a great burger culture and is now made even greater by the addition of Pumpers! Classic, well constructed burgers served alongside beef fat fries (just like the good ol’ days). There are also delicious cocktails and beverages available! You ever have a White Russian with your burger? No? I think you’re ready, get down to Pumpers and let them “love you to the max!”

Came here after a concert and wasn't disappointed. Came in about 11:15 and was greeted warmly even though they close at midnight. Got a margarita and my fiance got a boozy rootbeer float. We both got the culo burger with fries to share. The margarita was a bit too sweet for my liking and my fiance didn't care for the RB float.. Even though that's probably about preference. The burgers were awesome and the fries were even better than McDonald's fries. The atmosphere and the service was equally amazing. Will definitely come back when we visit this side of town

FINALLY got to try this fabulous little burger joint!! Super friendly service and the burger was on point!! Juicy meat, fresh veggies, wasn’t crazy about the bun (I rarely eat the buns anyways!!) so great flavors!! The loaded fries were different with the sweet, caramelized jalapenos!!! Sooo yummy and conveniently opened late - Ooh La La!!! Will be back!!!

This is my favorite burger spot in all of San Antonio. Food is delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful. Parking can be a pain since it’s right off Broadway. But the food here is amazing. Every burger comes with 2 patties. The bun is just right, not too soft and sturdy enough to handle the burger. Fries are amazing. They’re cooked in beef fat which is how they should be done. Pumpers sets the bar high and you won’t be disappointed coming here. Also they’re open late which is very convenient.

Pumpers was a new find for us. Stopped by around 3 pm on. Saturday afternoon. You order at the counter and find a seat. It’s a small place so seating is kind of limited. The bar area is cool, it all reminds me of an old soda fountain type place. The menu is fun. You order at the counter and take a number, food is brought to you. For the most part a great experience.
